Donation of Supplies:

During our busiest time of the year for wildlife rehabilitation, we are always in need of supplies. If you'd like to help us help animals in ways other than a donation of your time as a volunteer, or monetary gifts, donations of the following items are always needed and welcome.

• Grocery store items: apples, carrots, grapes, berries, rodent blocks, stewing beef, fish, jarred baby food (chicken), baby rice cereal (pablum), grocery store gift cards
• Pet store items: frozen mosquito larvae, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex worms, earthworms, live minnows, cat litter boxes (new or gently used), pet store gift cards
• Medical items: latex gloves, syringes (all sizes), autoclave (for sterilizing equipment), forceps, tweezers, cat scale, drug store gift cards
• Janitorial supplies: laundry detergent, dish detergent, bleach, liquid hand soap, garbage bags, rubber gloves, paper towels, kleenex
• Building supplies: nails, screws, lumber, hinges/latches, steel fencing materials (posts, spikes), hardware mesh, chicken wire, tarps, roofing materials, corrigated fibreglass sheets, foam insulation, hardware store gift cards
• Miscellaneous: Canadian Tire money or gift cards, extension cords (indoor and out), heating pads, padlocks, energy-efficient lightbulbs, straw bales, newspapers, energy-efficient refrigerator and freezer

Wild at Heart Wildlife Refuge Centre is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization and a registered charity that provides veterinary treatment and rehabilitation to wild animals that are orphaned, sick or injured, so that they may return to the wild. It is the only facility of its kind in Northern Ontario.

Approximately 500 animals are treated annually and this number continues to grow each year. These include songbirds, raptors, small and large mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Primarily, the animals treated at Wild at Heart are there as a result of human interference. We owe them compassion and our utmost efforts to ensure that they not only survive, but thrive.

Wild at Heart’s new headquarters is a symbol of our community’s commitment to our environment and to our fellow creatures.

Your donation of...

• $10 buys mealworms to feed baby birds
• $25 helps to purchase medical supplies such as syringes
• $50 buys a week's supply of milk replacer for infant mammals
• $100 buys a month's supply of special moose-milk formula
• $250 helps to purchase building materials for an enclosure

If you prefer to give a donation in kind, gift certificates for grocery, hardware, lumber, or drug stores are also very much appreciated (and still tax deductible).

If you would like to make an in-memoriam or a tribute gift, simply notify us of who you would like the acknowledgement sent to. The official receipt for income-tax purposes will be sent to you. It's a wonderful way to pay tribute to an animal lover in your life.

Your support is greatly appreciated and makes a difference in the lives of animals that wouldn't otherwise have a second chance.
