About the Campaign:

We are launching a fundraising campaign for 2010 and our goal is to raise $100,000. The funds we raise are for our new centre and will help to cover the cost of caring for orphaned, injured, and sick wildlife in 2010 as well as help fund the development of comprehensive educational programs for students, visitors and tourists. In addition, we are embarking on the development of volunteer-training programs, community workshops, and teacher-training programs. Wild at Heart depends on the generosity of our community and local businesses because without all of you, we would not have come this far as an organization. Wild at Heart is the only facility of it's kind in Northern Ontario and we are the voice for wildlife in need in the north. You can help be the voice for wildlife. Every donation matters and every donation makes a difference.

How the Campaign Works:

Our campaign will run year-long and any donations we receive and funds we raise through events, merchandise sales, memberships, and campaigns will be counted toward the total amount of our goal. Wild at Heart has been successful in the past with obtaining government grants at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels (see Donors for more information on past donors), as well as obtaining significant community support from the Sudbury community and beyond. However, with the construction of our new 5,000 square foot education and acute-care centre, we are becoming a stand-alone organization that is no longer operating within a veterinary hospital. As well, more awareness in and around the Sudbury area about Wild at Heart, what we do, and the care we give to wildlife has brought increasing numbers of wildlife to our centre each year. Thus, with rising costs of animal care/treatment, new education and volunteer programs, new overhead costs, and new partnerships in our community, Wild at Heart is growing very quickly and we need your support to help us continue being the voice for wildlife.

The thermometer above represents the donations that Wild at Heart has received to date. It is a visual representation of our progress and it will be updated regularly throughout the year. We encourage you to support our campaign and help us to reach our goal of $100,000 which will help treat the approximately 500 wild animals we receive annually at our centre. As well, you will be helping us develop education programs so you and your children can come and visit our centre to see our work first-hand to learn about wildlife and our local environment. In addition, Wild at Heart is developing better volunteer training programs so you can volunteer at our centre, help care for wildlife in need, and learn new skills and knowledge about our fellow creatures!

Wild at Heart appreciates every donation that we receive, whether large or small - it all makes a difference. We want to thank our donors in this campaign but only with their permission. We will always respect your privacy if you would like to remain anonymous as a donor. Otherwise, we encourage you to have your name on our site as a supporter of our campaign to show others that you care. Individual donors will receive the same benefits as business donors (i.e.: your name will be printed instead of a company's name).
