Wild at Heart has a new home! Because we have outgrown our current home within the Walden Animal Hospital, in the fall of 2008, Wild at Heart began construction of a brand new wildlife rehabilitation and education centre! Our new wildlife centre will combine a public education centre and a wildlife treatment centre under the same roof!

We still need your help to finish the interior of our building so we can open to the public in the near future! We are not regularly funded by any granting agency, program, or corporation and we rely close to 100% on your donations to keep our centre open. Contruction Progress at the new Wild at Heart Refuge Centre in Lively:
November 2008 - Excavation begins on our new facility
December 2008 - Foundation begins
January 2009 - Walls start going up for first and second floor
February 2009 - Front entranceway deck is added
March 2009 - Third floor is added and interior walls are framed
April 2009 - Work begins on the roof
May 2009 - Shingles are added, all interior walls are framed on second and third floors
July 2009 - Windows are added and continuing interior work
October 2009 - Continuing interior work
November 2009 - Cedar siding is added
November 2009 - Lower level is prepared for concrete (Animal Care level)
December 2009 - Concrete is poured in Animal Care level
January 2010 - Framing begins in Animal Care level
February 2010 - Insulation and vapour barrier is completed throughout the facility
March 2010 - Drywall work begins throughout facility
March 2010 - Mezzanine Level (office area) drywall is complete and painted
March 2010 - Outdoor enclosures are moved to new facility just down the street from the Walden Animal Hospital
June 2010 - We are now fully moved into our new centre at 95 White Road!
